Species Identification--An Introduction

The species I choose is dogs. It is necessary to clarify that the word “dog” here refers to domestic dogs specifically, since this word can be used to call all the related species in the Canis genus.

The dog is classified as domesticated species in society, and this species was in fact the first domesticated species in human history. Nowadays, there are more than 300 recognized breeds, and it is hard to estimate the total number of dogs worldwide. Dogs act as many roles in society, while their most popular roles are human companions.
